Discount Studio privacy policy

Discount Studio (“the app”, “we”) helps Shopify merchants create discount offers, such as bundle prices, tiered discounts and free gifts. This policy explains what information the app collects when a merchant installs it, how we use it, and how it is deleted.
Information we collect
When a merchant installs the app, Shopify gives us access to the store's data through its API, limited to the permissions the merchant approves: reading products, and managing discounts, cart validation and the app proxy. We store:

We do not collect or store personal information about the store's customers, such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses or payment details. We do not use the Shopify customer or order APIs.
Information processed but not stored
- Cart contents. To add or remove a free gift, the store's theme and checkout send the cart's product IDs, quantities, prices and the app's campaign tag to the app. We use this only to answer that request and do not store it.
- Offer results. The app shows how many orders used each offer. These totals come from Shopify's discount reports; we do not read or store individual orders.
- Shopper's browser. The app's storefront script keeps a few short-lived values in the browser's session storage (for example, the collection last viewed and declined gifts) so offers apply correctly. They contain no personal information, are not sent to us, and are cleared when the browser tab closes. The app sets no cookies.
How we use information
Only to provide the app's features to the merchant who installed it. We do not sell, rent or share information with third parties for marketing, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
Sharing and service providers
- Shopify, which hosts the store, runs the discounts at checkout and handles app billing.
- Our hosting provider (DigitalOcean), where the app and its database run on servers we control.
We may disclose information if required by law.
Billing
Paid plans are billed by Shopify on the merchant's Shopify invoice. We never receive payment card details.
Retention and deletion
- When a merchant uninstalls the app, we delete the store's access token and all of its offers from our database.
- We respond to Shopify's privacy requests: shop/redact (we delete everything stored for the store) and customers/data_request and customers/redact (we store no customer data, so there is nothing to export or delete).
- Discounts the app created stop working when the app is uninstalled.
Security
Data is sent over HTTPS. Access tokens and offers are stored in a password-protected database that only the app can use. Requests from Shopify are verified with Shopify's signatures.
Your rights
Merchants can see and change their offers in the app at any time, and can delete all their data by uninstalling. Merchants, and customers of stores using the app, can contact us at rajatgarg91@gmail.com with any privacy question or request. Customers can also contact the store directly.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
